BPESA ADDS TWO NEW EXCITING EVENTS TO ITS INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT CALENDAR

BPESA is excited to announce that it will, for the first time, be hosting a second installment of the popular BPESA Sports Day and will be introducing new training Boot Camps as part of its industry development initiatives.

The second Sports Day will take place in October, with the three series Boot Camps kicking off in late August which will run over 3 months.

“As the industry body for the BPO sector, we are always exploring new ways to enhance industry development across the sector and are excited to be hosting both these events this year. We are particularly excited about hosting another sports day as we receive an overwhelming response each year” said BPESA Digital Performance Marketing Manager, and event organizer, Amy Goodman.

South Africa has positioned itself as a strong global provider of BPO services to the international community by attracting new investments at a consistent rate over the years. Data from the 2016 BPESA Key Indicator Report indicate that the number of jobs created to date have increased to 222 500.

The development of a strong skills pipeline is a high priority for the sector and will remain a key component of the South African value proposition in order to sustain the growing demand for offshore investment into the country.

“Developing a strong skills pipeline and the existing talent pool is the biggest challenge facing our sector. These events allow us to strengthen that existing talent pool and to do so in a fun and engaging fashion” said Western Cape CEO, Gareth Pritchard.

Goodman attributes the success of the organization’s industry development initiatives to the strong support it receives from the larger BPO community.

“We are proud to be part of a strong active BPO community who really gets involved and who are passionate about upskilling their staff”, said Goodman.
