BUSA has released a media statement on Wednesday, 25 March 2020 regarding a solidarity fund for South Africans during the COVID-19 crisis.

The focus of the fund is to alleviate the suffering and distress caused by the virus on our country and will mobilise the support of business and civil society in support of government’s efforts in response to COVID-19.

On Monday, 23 March, our President Cyril Ramaphosa took the very necessary decision to put our beloved country into a 21-day lockdown making South African lives a priority focus. While we radically adjust our lives in preparation for the lockdown we need to prep and prime some new parameters for maintaining our businesses until we have overcome this crisis and we have sight of what 'business as usual' could look like post-crisis.
