BPESA, the dti and a delegation of 19 South African companies recently returned from a successful joint marketing trip to Sydney and the Gold Coast in Australia. The team met with analysts, consultants, advisors and business executives from Australian organisations and outsourcing vendors during their visit to Sydney and while exhibiting at the CCW event at the Gold Coast. The purpose of the trip was to promote South Africa to the Australian market as a nuanced proposition that is not directly in competition with the Philippines or India but rather one that is more specific, also offering a complementary element to an existing global multi geographic delivery model.
The success factors for Australian businesses were well explained to us: compliance with Australian regulations; data privacy and security; good governance; quality and reliability of service; cost savings; omnichannel capabilities; digital and analytics; deployment of next generation services; innovation; understanding Australian culture; fit for purpose solutions; and the ability to partner with local operators who have the ability to scale.
Many new relationships were established and existing ones developed further. We look forward to hosting more Australian business in South Africa over the coming year so they can experience first hand what we are talking about!
