CallingtheCape was founded in 2001 to promote and develop the IT-enabled services industry in Cape Town, with a strong initial focus on contact centres. It operates both as a specialist investment promotion agency for business process outsourcing (including call centres) and as a regional trade association and networking body for the industry.

The Coega Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) is South Africa’s premier location for new industrial investments covering 11 000 hectares of land. The Coega IDZ is a phased development around industry clusters with Custom Secure Areas (CSA) dedicated for export oriented manufacturing companies located in the zone. Coega offers a platform for global exports by attracting foreign and local investment in manufacturing industries.

ContactinGauteng is the provincial authority and sector association for Business Process Outsourcing and Offshoring (BPO & O) and call centres in the Gauteng province, South Africa. As the official BPO & O sector association for the region, ContactinGauteng’ has two mandates: to develop the BPO sector, which includes call centres, in Gauteng, facilitating best practices, providing members with strategic support, networking and learning opportunities among its members and leveraging relationships with big business, industry and government entities. ContactinGauteng also responds to identified development needs within the sector: addressing standards, skills, and resource challenges through the implementation of capacity building programmes. The other mandate is to market the value proposition of the BPO sector to attract international investment into the province. Joburg is the hub of the call centre industry, and has the highest concentration of call centre and BPO operations in the country.
